United Arab Emirates T20I Tri-Series 2025 3rd Match Result
Updated:Afghanistan beat United Arab Emirates by 38 runs.

Afghanistan finally got their groove on with a solid 38-run win over UAE, thanks to a rock-solid batting show and a Rashid Khan masterclass. Ibrahim Zadran (63) and Sediqullah Atal (54) built a cool 84-run partnership that rescued the innings after an early wobble. Things really took off near the end, when Karim Janat went full beast mode in the penultimate over, smashing 22 and pushing the score to a handy 188. UAE’s bowlers had some bright moments but crumbled at the worst possible time, classic case of holding it together… until they didn’t.

Then came Waseem. The UAE skipper looked like he was about to pull off something heroic, racing to 67 in no time and keeping his side in the chase. But once he fell, Rashid Khan showed up like the final boss, taking three wickets and dashing any hopes UAE had left. Rahul Chopra’s stylish unbeaten 52 made the scoreboard look a bit nicer, but the damage was long done. Rashid’s performance not only won the match, it also made him the top wicket-taker in men’s T20I history. Legend stuff!

UAE vs AFG 2025 3rd Match – Another clash of two home teams?
Yes, just like when Pakistan played here, this is again a battle of two sides who both know Sharjah as their home. Afghanistan have treated Sharjah as their adopted base right from 2010 till today, making this ground almost like a fortress for them.
UAE vs AFG – Afghanistan’s record in Sharjah
Since adopting Sharjah as their temporary home in 2010, Afghanistan have played 19 T20Is here, winning 15 and losing only 4. Their opponents have included Pakistan, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Scotland, UAE and Kenya. Against UAE in Sharjah, Afghanistan lead 4-1. This shows their dominance, though that one defeat also proves UAE are not without a chance. The real question is how sharp Afghanistan’s players are after an eight-month break. Rashid Khan’s batting power and his dangerous spin will decide how much edge they still hold.

UAE vs AFG – Can UAE beat Afghanistan again?
As mentioned, UAE have managed to beat Afghanistan once in Sharjah. To repeat the 2023 upset, their players will need something special. That win came because openers Muhammad Waseem and Aryan Lakra added 116 runs, giving Afghanistan real pressure, and later bowlers Muhammad Jawadullah and Ali Naseer combined to pick 8 wickets and dismantle Afghanistan’s line-up. But this time only Waseem and Jawadullah remain in the 2025 tri-series squad. To recreate such a result, UAE must find new players who can step up in place of the missing names.

UAE vs AFG – Conclusion
This is perhaps the toughest game of the tri-series to call. On one side you have Afghanistan, a strong team but returning after an eight-month break, and on the other the official home side UAE, who once proved they could win here. On numbers Afghanistan are favourites and should win if they play to potential, but there is still that 20–30 percent feeling that UAE might just surprise everyone.

UAE vs AFG 2025 3rd Match – Venue History&Analysis: Sharjah Cricket Stadium
Stadium Capacity: Around 39,000 spectators
Stadium Address: Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Second Industrial Street, Industrial Area 5, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates
About the Stadium:
Sharjah Cricket Stadium is one of the most iconic neutral venues in world cricket. It is the proud home ground of UAE and has also been adopted as a temporary base by Pakistan from 2010 to 2018 and by Afghanistan from 2010 till today. The stadium’s excellent facilities, easy access, and large South Asian community make it an ideal venue. It has staged many major events including the Asia Cup, ICC T20 World Cup, as well as bilateral and multi-nation series. Sharjah’s legacy has made it an iconic arena in world cricket, paving the way for its record of hosting the most ODIs.

Sharjah Cricket Stadium was completed and inaugurated in 1984, and in just 27 years it went on to surpass every other ground to become the leader in ODI matches hosted. Before 2009, the record was held by the Sydney Cricket Ground with 199 ODIs to its name. But on 18 February 2010, Sharjah staged the ODI between Afghanistan and Canada, which made it the ground with the most ODIs in history, a record it continues to hold proudly. Incidentally, that match was won by Canada, with their skipper Ashish Bagai playing a captain’s knock of 52 runs to seal the victory.
