WI vs PAK 2025 3rd ODI Match Results
Updated:West Indies beat Pakistan by 202 runs.

The West Indies wrapped up their ODI series against Pakistan with flair, fire, and a serious show of dominance! Shai Hope was all class, anchoring the innings with a stunning 120* while Greaves chipped in with a handy 43*. They may have looked a bit cautious early on, but boy did they flip the switch late, smacking 100 runs in the last seven overs to post 294. Hope’s back-to-back sixes were the turning point, and once that gear shifted, there was no turning back. Pakistan looked stunned, like they’d been hit by a cricketing hurricane, and they hadn’t even picked up a bat yet.

Enter Jayden Seales. The young quick tore through Pakistan’s lineup like a hot knife through butter, finishing with a jaw-dropping 6 for 18, the second-best ODI figures by a West Indian ever. He dismissed the top order like it was a casual net session, including a beauty that kissed Rizwan’s off bail without even brushing the stumps. Pakistan never recovered, folding for just 92. West Indies didn’t just win; they demolished Pakistan by 202 runs, sealing their first series win over them in 34 years. That’s how you end a tour in style!

WI vs PAK 2025 3rd ODI – Both teams have been struggling lately, but what’s really going wrong?
Yes, both teams have been having a rough patch in their last five matches. West Indies have lost 4 out of 5, while Pakistan have lost all five. Although both teams have faced the top three ranked sides in the world, these results are hard to ignore. I’m sure no player is feeling too good about it, no matter how much they try to justify the tough opponents. Let’s break down where things are going wrong.

WI vs PAK – Pakistan’s bowling and batting performance
To figure out the issue, we should look at the bowling and batting. For bowlers, focus on Econ and Wickets, while for batsmen, SR is key. Pakistan’s bowlers have an average Econ of 6.19, taking 6.6 wickets per match, while the batsmen have an SR of 70.64. Compared to ideal ODI stats, this is far from ideal. A competitive team needs an Econ of 5.5-6.0 and batsmen with an SR of 80-90. Pakistan’s numbers are below par. Though they’ve faced top teams, they fall short. Their best Econ in the last five matches was 5.6, and best SR was 87.78, but neither came in the same game. No surprise they’ve lost all five, as both bowlers and batsmen lack consistency.

WI vs PAK – West Indies’ bowling and batting performance
On the other hand, for West Indies, they’ve faced England and Ireland. Their average Econ is 6.58, but their batsmen have an impressive SR of 100.66. While their Econ is slightly worse than Pakistan’s, their batting is much better. Some of this is inflated by Ireland, but even against England, they had a batting SR over 100 in two matches. This shows batting isn’t the biggest issue for West Indies. The main concern is consistency. Against both teams, their SR dropped below 75 at times. Their bigger issue is the bowling attack. If they can’t lower their Econ, it puts huge pressure on the batsmen. Especially in a chase, they’ll need to play aggressively, leading to more mistakes and dismissals.

WI vs PAK – Conclusion
Now, to wrap it up, based on the data from both sides, I would say this ODI series should end at least 1:1. As for who wins the last game, that’s hard to say. Pakistan’s numbers are not looking great, but I feel West Indies still haven’t solved their bowling problems. Against Pakistan’s aggressive batting, their bowlers could crumble and allow big runs. Also, historically, Pakistan has had a slight edge over West Indies in their head-to-head, which is why I think at least one game will go their way. The final result, though, will depend on the conditions on the day of the match.

WI vs PAK 2025 3rd ODI – Venue History&Analysis: Brian Lara Stadium
Stadium Capacity: Around 20,000 spectators
Stadium Address: Brian Lara Stadium Rd, San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago
About the Stadium:
BLR Stadium was officially completed in 2017, so many teams are still unfamiliar with it. The stadium was designed to create a balanced pitch, offering fair competition between bowlers and batsmen. However, due to the local island climate, in August, Trinidad and Tobago experiences the rainy season. This makes the pitch softer and damp, and if it rains before the match, the ground becomes less favourable for fast bowlers. The ball tends to bounce unpredictably, which doesn’t make it easier for batsmen either, as increased humidity reduces the ball’s carry.

Because of this, in such climate and pitch conditions, the role of the spin bowlers becomes especially crucial. If a team fails to control the tempo of the game, they could easily be on the receiving end of continuous runs. The one positive aspect is that since the ball doesn’t travel as far, the chances of boundaries hitting are reduced. But, this all depends on whether there’s rain before the match. If it doesn’t rain, then the ground will be fairly neutral, and it will be a true test of the teams’ strength.
