In the second innings Australia had posted a massive total of 474. Yashasvi Jaiswal played another brilliant innings of 82 runs hitting 10 fours and 1 six keeping the scoreboard moving and relieving pressure on his partners. However he got caught in a controversy so the momentum and morale could not continue.
Controversial DRS Decision on Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 84 Changes Momentum
Yashasvi Jaiswal was batting on 84 during the final day when he was given not out by the on-field umpire. But Australia reviewed the decision using DRS. Although the ball seemed to change direction after passing the bat, Snicko showed no sound, meaning there was no clear proof the ball hit the bat. Despite that, the third umpire overturned the decision and gave him out, which many fans and experts thought was unfair. This moment changed the game, helping Australia take control and win.

IND vs AUS 2024 4th Test – Venue History&Analysis: Melbourne Cricket Ground
Stadium Capacity: Around 93,000 spectators.
Stadium Address: Brunton Ave, Richmond VIC 3002, Australia.
About the Stadium:
The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), commonly called The G, is not just Australia’s most iconic stadium but also one of the most renowned sporting venues in the world. Before the arrival of Europeans, the land was used as a place for gatherings, ceremonies, and resource collection. The MCG was established in 1853, just under two decades after the city of Melbourne was founded. The first ever Test match in cricket history took place here in 1877 between Australia and England. That historic match laid the foundation for a legacy that has lasted nearly 150 years.

It is the largest stadium in the Southern Hemisphere, with square boundaries measuring between 75 to 80 metres. This means that batters must time the ball perfectly to clear the rope. Even well-timed shots often fall short because of the large ground and the thick, lush outfield. Therefore, batters need to run hard to convert singles into doubles, and doubles into triples. Moreover, attempting a lofted shot over the boundary often results in getting caught. At The G, power alone is not sufficient.
