Stumps:Australia beat West Indies by 133 runs.

Australia wrapped things up in style on Day 4 in Grenada, sealing a 133-run win over the West Indies and keeping hold of the Frank Worrell Trophy, something they’ve done since Friends was still airing. Despite a late-night whisper of optimism from the hosts, chasing 277 was more fantasy than plan. The Aussie bowlers came out hot, snatching four wickets before lunch like they had a dinner reservation. Pat Cummins bowled a gem to send Brandon King’s stump flying, and from there, it was a downward spiral.

Mitchell Starc (3/24) was breathing fire, Nathan Lyon (3/42) was snagging wickets and catching his own bowling, and the rest of the pack didn’t let up either. Roston Chase tried to punch back with a flashy 34, including a dreamy six off Starc, but the Windies just couldn’t hang. Green and Smith’s earlier runs proved golden, and with Lyon closing in on McGrath’s wicket tally, there’s plenty to watch as the final Test heads to Jamaica.

AUS vs WI 2nd Test Match:Day 3
Stumps:Australia lead by 254 runs.
| Australia | West Indies |

Australia’s grip tightened on Day 3 in Grenada, thanks to classy knocks from Steve Smith and Cameron Green even if the weather did its best to steal the spotlight. With just 58.3 overs squeezed in between rain breaks, bad light, and a slow over rate, Smith played like a man on a mission (splint and all), while Green finally made his mark at No. 3 with a stylish half-century. Their 93-run stand gave the Aussies breathing room, even if the West Indies kept chipping away after tea. Smith’s LBW dismissal shocked just about everyone, especially him, and Green’s angry bat drop after chopping on said it all.

The pitch kept batters guessing with its uneven bounce, but Australia adapted, pushing their lead to 254 by stumps at 221 for 7. Greaves popped up as West Indies’ unlikely hero, nabbing two key wickets and keeping the chase within faint reach. Head sparkled briefly before falling, and now it’s on Alex Carey to stretch the lead and give the Aussie bowlers a buffer. West Indies had hoped to chase under 200. Now, they’re staring down a mountain. Day 4’s forecast: tense, and possibly soggy.
Steve Smith and Cameron Green both made half-centuries, with Australia hopeful of building a lead of over 300 tomorrow.

AUS vs WI 2nd Test Match:Day 2
Stumps:Australia lead by 45 runs.
| Australia | West Indies |
| 286&12/2 | 253 |
Australia’s second day in Grenada ended with a twist straight out of a cricketing thriller. After bowling out the West Indies for 253, thanks in part to Brandon King’s stylish 75 and a gritty lower-order fightback, the Aussies had a slim 33-run lead. But Jayden Seales wasn’t done yet. He came out firing, nabbing both Aussie openers in a fiery spell under fading light, leaving Australia wobbling at 12 for 2 and clinging to a fragile 45-run advantage. Green and nightwatchman Lyon survived till stumps, but the pressure is very real.

Earlier, the West Indies showed grit after being 169 for 4, with King anchoring things nicely and the Josephs (Alzarri and Shamar) swinging hard to frustrate the Aussie attack. Pat Cummins pulled off an outrageous return catch, while Lyon toiled through a marathon 17-over spell and eventually got King down the leg side with a little help from a sharp DRS call. The pitch offered something for everyone: a bit of bounce, a bit of bite, and plenty of drama.

AUS vs WI 2nd Test Match:Day 1
Stumps:Australia chose to bat.
| Australia | West Indies |
| 286 | – |
Australia’s batting lineup stumbled yet again in Grenada, slipping to 110 for 5 before Beau Webster and Alex Carey came to the rescue. It was déjà vu from Barbados, with another top-order collapse followed by a gritty middle-order rebuild. Webster was composed and confident, smashing a 50 off 87 balls, while Carey rode his luck—dropped once, nearly run out twice, but still chipped in with 63. The pair’s 112-run partnership gave the Aussies some momentum, but the West Indies chipped away and wrapped things up at 286, thanks to Alzarri Joseph’s sharp 4-for.

Early on, things looked solid at 47 for 0 until wickets tumbled fast—Khawaja, Konstas, and Smith all fell in quick succession. Even Cameron Green couldn’t cash in despite a couple of lives. A couple of DRS calls, some slippery fielding from West Indies, and a bit of drama with the third umpire added to the day’s twists. Light ended play before Australia could bowl, but with some uneven bounce already showing up, Day Two should be spicy.

AUS vs WI 2025 2nd Test: Can the West Indies Claim Their First Win in 19 Years at This Venue?
The second match of the Australia tour of West Indies series is likely to be held at the Grenada National Cricket Stadium, although it is not 100% confirmed yet. However, if the match does take place at the Grenada National Cricket Stadium, both Australia and the West Indies will need to give their absolute best. Looking at the past Test record between the two teams at this venue, out of four matches, three ended in a draw, with Australia having won just once. While factors like the ground conditions and weather have played a role, it’s important to note that draws are not very common in the Test format. Moreover, the last time the two teams faced each other at this venue was already a decade ago. So, if either team hopes to win this time, they will have to come up with some fresh strategies to break the deadlock.

Australia’s Key Players to Watch
- Marnus Labuschagne (Batter) – Labuschagne’s patience and footwork against spin make him perfect for Grenada’s slow pitch. He can anchor the innings and frustrate WI’s bowlers with his relentless concentration.
- Nathan Lyon (Off-Spinner) – Lyon excels on turning tracks, and Grenada’s surface will help his subtle variations. His accuracy and ability to bowl long spells can control the game and take crucial wickets.
- Pat Cummins (Fast Bowler/Captain) – Even on slow pitches, Cummins’ seam movement and short-ball tactics can trouble WI’s batters. His leadership and relentless line-and-length bowling make him a constant threat.
- Travis Head (Aggressive Batter) – Head’s counterattacking style can disrupt WI’s spinners if Australia loses early wickets. On a sluggish pitch, his quick scoring could shift momentum in a session.

West Indies’s Key Players to Watch
- Kraigg Brathwaite (Opener/Captain) – WI’s skipper is their most dependable batter, especially in tough conditions. His ultra-defensive style is perfect for Grenada’s slow pitch, where survival is key. If he bats long, WI can build a big total.
- Jomel Warrican (Left-Arm Spinner) – Warrican is WI’s best spinner for Grenada’s turning track. His accuracy and ability to exploit rough patches against right-handers (like Smith/Labuschagne) could trouble Australia. A silent assassin.
- Alick Athanaze (Middle-Order Batter) – The young left-hander has shown grit against pace and spin. On a slow pitch, his compact technique and ability to rotate strike will be crucial. Could anchor WI’s middle order.
- Alzarri Joseph (Fast Bowler) – Joseph’s raw pace and bounce can surprise batters, even on slow pitches. His reverse-swing and aggression (especially with short balls) might rattle Australia’s middle order. A wicket-taking X-factor.

Stadium Capacity: Approximately 20,000 spectators
Stadium Address: 365X+J43, Mt. Rush Road, St George’s, Grenada
Stadium Features: The National Cricket Stadium is located in St. George’s, Grenada. It was originally established in 1887 under the name Queen’s Park. The stadium was rebuilt in 1999 and subsequently renamed to its current title. In 2002, three years later, it was officially designated as a Test venue—making it the 84th Test ground in the world. That same year, it hosted a Test match between the West Indies and New Zealand. However, in 2004, the venue suffered severe damage due to a hurricane, prompting reconstruction and facility upgrades. These enhancements included expanded spectator capacity, floodlighting, and a range of modern amenities.
Since becoming an international venue, the National Cricket Stadium has a relatively short Test history and thus lacks many standout moments. Its most notable appearance was as one of the venues for the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup.
