You know, there’s no team quite like the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) when it comes to setting massive totals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In a few of their hitting sprees, they have reached the highest team total in IPL history and have been able to break their record several times.

They own the title for not only the first but also the second and third highest score in IPL. To make their feats even more unbelievable, they also set the highest score in IPL 2025. Let’s go through their top 3 scores in IPL history.
Top 3 Highest Team Total in IPL History(All Achieved by SRH)
1. 287/3 vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), 2024
What happened at Chinnaswamy Stadium that fateful day was insane. SRH basically came out there and just started raining boundaries – I’m talking proper T20 treatment for the bowlers. They weren’t just hitting; they were setting a new record for the season, smashing a mind-boggling 287 for 3!

Travis Head? Oh my god, he was on another planet, hitting a career-best 102 off just 41 balls. And then Heinrich Klaasen came in, just as brutal with 67 off 31. And to top it all off, Abdul Samad finished things with a ridiculous 37 off only 10 balls, not out!

It was just a complete demolition job, one-way traffic from start to finish. Those bowlers must’ve been having nightmares for weeks! Can you believe 549 runs were scored in that single T20 game? Nuts! Anyway, it became the highest team total in IPL history, all thanks to a demonic batting order.

2. 286/6 vs Rajasthan Royals (RR), 2025
The SRH batters started the 2025 season from where they left things off in 2024, and they pretty much looked determined to breach the 300 mark this season. But the Orange Army had to make do with 286, which was more than enough to win them the first match of the season.

Their top five batters were just absolutely unreal. They took only 118 balls between them, and seriously, nobody had a strike rate of less than 200 individually, which is just mind-blowing! And get this: Ishan Kishan, on his debut with SRH, smashed his first-ever IPL ton! It was pure chaos and excitement, all thanks to him.

For a hot minute there, everyone was buzzing, thinking, ‘This is it! This is going to be the 300-run game!’ But then, credit where credit’s due, the Rajasthan bowlers tightened things up just enough to keep them from hitting that magic number. However, it was enough to make it the highest score in IPL 2025.
DID WE ENJOY THAT? YES, WE DID! 😘🫴#PlayWithFire | #SRHvKKR | #TATAIPL2025 pic.twitter.com/QwZ0bsuYfa

3. 278/3 vs Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), 2025
When they entered the ground in Delhi for their last match of the season against KKR, it was almost set in stone that they were going to do something big. But what happened was unbelievable! Another absolute run-fest in IPL 2025, seriously. It was at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, and on May 25th, SRH just went head-to-head with Kolkata Knight Riders, and, well, they exploded! They put up a colossal 278 for 3. Another masterclass by the Orange Giants!

That pitch was just a flat road, man, and those boundaries were practically begging to be hit. And SRH’s batters? Oh, they took full advantage, no doubt! Travis Head just did Travis Head things with his 76 off 40 balls, but the real wrecker-in-chief for the KKR side was the maniacal Heinrich Klaasen, scoring 105* off just 39 balls. Despite failing to qualify for the playoffs this season, they set the record for the third highest score in IPL while signing off for the season.
Conclusion

When you think about it, it’s baffling how just one team has set the first, second, and third highest score in IPL single-handedly. Still, this team has done the unthinkable like it was a piece of cake. And the whole credit goes to this masterfully curated batting order that has brought even the most lethal bowling attacks of the league to their knees.

They already have the highest team total in IPL history, but still, they keep on pushing for more, hoping to eventually breach the 300-run barrier. In this valiant effort, they recorded the highest score in IPL 2025, giving the rest of the teams something to look up to for the rest of the season. It was really unfortunate, though, that they were unable to qualify for the playoffs this season. And you know what’s more shocking? The fact that reason behind this was the same approach that helped them set some of the biggest totals that IPL has ever seen.

Many cricket experts have criticized them for the aggressive approach that cost them this season. But our Orange Warriors are reluctant to divert from their current style of play, and they now endorse it more than ever, wearing it like proof of their identity.
