A 15-year-old nearly dragged Rajasthan Royals to the doorstep of the IPL final on his own. That was the story of the night as RR completely outplayed SRH in one of the wildest knockout matches of the season. Looking at the win predictor during most of the chase, Sunrisers Hyderabad barely had a realistic path back into the game. The full IPL 2026 Eliminator highlights showed just how brutal RR were with both bat and ball, while the Eliminator match result pushed them one step closer to the trophy after a dramatic showdown.
IPL 2026 Eliminator Highlights
The SRH vs RR Eliminator started with Pat Cummins winning the toss and asking Rajasthan Royals to bat first. On paper, it looked sensible. In reality, things spiralled almost immediately. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi survived a couple of accurate yorkers early on, but once he settled, the entire match changed direction. He targeted both pace and slower balls with remarkable clarity. Cummins tried bowling full. Malinga tried changing pace. Nothing really worked.
He’s just getting started 😉

By the end of the third over, RR already had momentum completely under control. Sooryavanshi launched multiple sixes straight down the ground and over square leg, forcing SRH to constantly adjust their field placements. The first major phase of the IPL 2026 Eliminator highlights was basically one teenager dismantling an experienced bowling attack.

The innings quickly became absurd. Sooryavanshi reached his fifty in just 14 balls and never slowed down afterwards. Yashasvi Jaiswal was scoring at a decent pace at the other end, yet still looked almost invisible beside him. Every slight error from SRH disappeared into the crowd.
We are out of words 👏👏

One over against Cummins completely shifted the atmosphere inside the stadium. A slower ball was picked early and smashed flat over extra cover. A short ball vanished into the leg-side stands. Then came another clean strike over long-on. The IPL 2026 Eliminator highlights soon turned into a record-breaking session. Sooryavanshi crossed Chris Gayle’s long-standing IPL sixes record for a single season, taking his tally to 65 maximums. He eventually hammered 12 sixes in the innings alone. At one stage, the fastest IPL century genuinely looked inevitable.

But on 97 from only 29 deliveries, he attempted another attacking shot against Praful Hinge and top-edged towards deep third. The entire crowd stood up anyway. Even SRH players looked stunned by what they had just witnessed.

RR Keep Pushing
After Sooryavanshi departed, RR still needed someone to maintain the scoring rate because the platform demanded a huge finish. Dhruv Jurel stepped in brilliantly. He attacked immediately against both spin and pace, reaching a rapid half-century in only 20 balls. His innings included uppercuts, scoops and aggressive pulls that prevented SRH from rebuilding control during the middle overs.

Riyan Parag also chipped in despite visibly struggling with his hamstring. However, Rajasthan’s finishing phase was not perfect. Once Jurel got out, the innings slowed considerably. RR lost wickets regularly in the final overs and managed only 36 runs across the last five. At one point, 260 looked possible. They eventually finished on 243 for 8.

Archer Ends It Early
If Sooryavanshi owned the first innings, Jofra Archer controlled the second. The SRH vs RR chase actually began aggressively. Ishan Kishan and Travis Head counterattacked immediately after Abhishek Sharma fell early. SRH crossed fifty inside three overs and briefly threatened to turn the match into another batting shootout. Then Archer shut the door.

He bounced out Abhishek first, removed Kishan soon after, and then produced a fast full delivery that beat Head completely and crashed into the stumps. Those wickets changed the entire mood of the chase. The IPL 2026 Eliminator highlights repeatedly showed SRH trying to recover through short bursts. Heinrich Klaasen briefly looked dangerous. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Salil Arora added quick runs too. But RR always had enough control because the required rate never stopped climbing.

Yash Raj Punja removed Klaasen at an important stage, while Ravindra Jadeja and Nandre Burger chipped away through the middle overs. Eventually, SRH were bowled out for 196. The final Eliminator match result confirmed a 47-run victory for Rajasthan Royals.

The biggest talking point after the match was obviously Sooryavanshi. The teenager not only produced one of the greatest playoff knocks in league history, but also became the player with the most sixes ever recorded in a single IPL season. Chris Gayle himself later referred to him as cricket’s “new six machine”. After the game, Sooryavanshi admitted he did not even realise how close he came to the fastest IPL century.
“I got to know after the game. My focus was on hitting a six. I will score centuries in future but the focus was on getting maximum runs for the team.”
He also explained his fearless approach during the innings.
“I try to just analyse how to face the bowlers, judge the length of the boundaries. When I am showing good intent, the bowler is under pressure.”
What Happens Next?
SRH vs RR knockout now sends Rajasthan Royals into Qualifier 2, where they will face Gujarat Titans for a place in the final. Sunrisers Hyderabad, meanwhile, are officially eliminated despite possessing one of the strongest batting units in the competition.

As far as the IPL 2026 Eliminator highlights go, though, this match will probably be remembered for one thing above everything else — a 15-year-old producing a knockout innings that completely overwhelmed an experienced playoff side. And after this Eliminator match result, RR suddenly look far more dangerous than anyone expected a week ago.
