Nandre Burger and Nqabayomzi Peter had earlier torn through Pakistan’s order with career-best spells that exposed the hosts’ lack of urgency. Burger’s fiery four-wicket burst left Pakistan reeling at 22 for 3, while Peter’s sharp leg-spin strangled the middle overs. Though Agha Salman and Mohammad Nawaz rebuilt with patient fifties, their slow tempo kept South Africa ahead.
