Mohammad Haris lit up Lahore with a dazzling maiden T20I century, powering Pakistan to a commanding seven-wicket win over Bangladesh and sealing a 3-0 series sweep in style. Chasing 197, Haris unleashed fireworks with 107* off just 46 balls, launching seven sixes and eight fours, and barely pausing for breath, not a single dot ball from the ninth over till the finish! Saim Ayub’s breezy 45 and Hasan Nawaz’s punchy cameo kept the engine running, but it was all Haris at the wheel, sealing the chase with 16 balls left and a big grin on his face.

Earlier, Bangladesh thought they had a total to defend after Parvez Hossain Emon’s explosive 66 and Tanzid Hasan’s 42 helped them post 196/6 — their best ever T20I score against Pakistan. But after a flying start, Pakistan’s bowlers, led by Shaheen Afridi’s crafty late spell, pulled things back well in the final overs. Still, the day belonged to Haris, whose knock didn’t just finish the job. It set a new standard for Pakistan’s middle-order firepower.

PAK vs BAN 2025 3rd T20I: Same Venue, Same Conditions, Another Battle
Bangladesh and Pakistan have already faced off twice at this very venue on 28th and 30th May. In theory, Bangladesh should have gotten used to the conditions and maybe even found ways to handle Pakistan’s pace attack. But looking back five years ago, in their back-to-back encounters, Bangladesh scored 141 in the first match and dropped to 136 in the second — the batting line seemed to struggle even more. Will this three-match series see a similar dip in Bangladesh’s batting?
PAK vs BAN – Bangladesh Then and Now, What’s Changed in Five Years?
Bangladesh’s team has gone through massive changes in the last five years. Five years ago, they lacked fresh talent, but now, many senior players have retired or faded away from T20I. The youngsters don’t have the benefit of senior players’ guidance, which shows in their lack of big-match experience. With the retirement of key seniors like Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah, Bangladesh faces a vacuum in the top order and middle order. The batting has become quite unstable.
Even though promising young batsmen like Tanzid Hasan and Towhid Hridoy have emerged, their performances remain inconsistent, and they lack experience on the big stage. Only three players with over ten years of international experience remain in the squad. While the team is clearly moving towards youth and has fixed some gaps in the bowling department, the experience gap is still a major concern.
PAK vs BAN – Pakistan’s Changes Over the Past Five Years
If Bangladesh has changed a lot, Pakistan hasn’t stayed still either! But unlike Bangladesh’s nine retirements or fading players, Pakistan has only lost two senior middle-order players. Unlike Bangladesh’s big experience gap, the impact of Malik and Hafeez retiring isn’t too significant for Pakistan. Current captain Babar Azam has taken over the top three role very well, while the younger generation players like Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan have grown into reliable middle-order batsmen.
Plus, the explosive Mohammad Haris has added more firepower to the lineup. While the batting might have taken a slight hit, Pakistan has successfully transformed its lineup. On the bowling front, there’s no experience gap – the young bowlers from five years ago have matured, making Pakistan’s pace attack even more threatening.
PAK vs BAN – Recent Form Overview
Both teams’ recent form has been below par. Pakistan lost their T20I series 1-4 against New Zealand and also lost to India in the ICC tournament. Bangladesh lost 1-2 against UAE in their series. However, the quality of opposition makes a huge difference here – Pakistan faced top-4 ranked teams including No.1 India, while Bangladesh’s main opponent was UAE, ranked 15th in the world. So while the results might look similar, the context and challenge level couldn’t be more different.
PAK vs BAN – Pre-Match Prediction
Looking at past head-to-head records at Gaddafi Stadium, the player changes, and recent form, it’s tough to see anything but a comfortable win for Pakistan. They have a 2-0 lead in recent meetings, a stronger and more experienced squad, and have played tougher opponents recently. Bangladesh just can’t match up in these departments. So, like our previous previews, the prediction stays the same – Pakistan is expected to win this one with no excuses.

PAK vs BAN 2025 3rd T20I – Venue History&Analysis: Gaddafi Stadium
Stadium Capacity: Approximately 27,000 spectators
Stadium Address: Gaddafi Stadium, Fortress Stadium Road, Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan
Stadium History:
Gaddafi Stadium, originally known as Lahore Stadium, was established in 1959. In 1974, it was renamed to honour former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. One of the most infamous chapters in the stadium’s history occurred in 2009, when the Sri Lankan cricket team was attacked near the venue.
The aftermath of the attack was far-reaching – most international teams refused to tour Pakistan for years. As a result, Pakistan was forced to shift its home fixtures to neutral venues like the UAE. It wasn’t until after 2015 that international cricket began to return to Pakistan gradually. However, the number of matches hosted in the country has yet to return to pre-2009 levels.
Stadium Features:
Gaddafi Stadium generally offers a balanced contest between bat and ball. That said, the pitch tends to be on the harder side, giving an early advantage to fast bowlers, especially during the first 1-15 overs of the game.
As the pitch wears down, spinners start to get some assistance, though only to a limited extent. Dew can become a factor after dark, but modern anti-dew sprays reduce its impact significantly. However, in winter months or after 10 PM, dew may still play a role, particularly in the latter stages of the game. For batters, the medium-sized boundaries favour power-hitters and finishers who can clear the ropes under pressure.
Advantage Analysis:
The third T20I between Pakistan and Bangladesh will be played at the same venue as the second match, Gaddafi Stadium, meaning both teams will once again face identical pitch and playing conditions. As mentioned in the preview for the PAK vs BAN 2025 2nd T20I, Pakistan not only enjoys the backing of home fans but also benefits from a surface that tends to favour pace bowlers, giving them a clear tactical edge with their strong fast-bowling unit.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh, having already experienced this pitch regardless of the result in the previous game, should now be in a better position to adapt and make the necessary adjustments. The big question remains: can this series deliver higher average scores than the 131-run mark from five years ago? We’ll have to wait and see.
