Set 305 to win, India stumbled early, but Sharma’s blistering century, supported by Shubman Gill’s 60 and Shreyas Iyer’s 44, kept the chase on track. England’s total of 304, despite contributions from Joe Root (69) and Ben Duckett (65), was not enough as India’s spinners, led by Ravindra Jadeja (3-35), took control. Axar Patel’s calm 41 not out saw India over the line with four balls to spare.
