GT vs MI – IPL 2025 Eliminator Match Results

Mumbai Indians lit up the Eliminator with fireworks and flair, booking their spot in the next round by toppling Gujarat Titans in a high-scoring thriller. Rohit Sharma rolled back the years with a classy 81, while Jonny Bairstow smashed 47 off just 22 balls on debut for his new franchise. MI were all about big hits — 17 sixes flew off their bats as they piled up a massive 228, the second-highest total ever in an IPL playoff. And when Gujarat looked like they might just chase it, Jasprit Bumrah showed up, cool as ever, and bowled a yorker so spicy it knocked Washington Sundar’s stumps clean out.

GT gave it a decent crack, with Sai Sudharsan anchoring the chase with a superb 80 and Washington swinging hard in a rapid 48. But once Bumrah worked his magic and Gleeson chipped in with a key wicket on debut, MI shut the door. Even with dew turning the outfield into a slip-and-slide, Mumbai’s bowlers nailed their yorkers and held their nerve. It came down to 24 off the last over, but it was a bridge too far. MI march on, GT bow out, and somewhere in the background, Rohit’s bat is still smoking.

GT vs MI IPL 2025 Eliminator – Will MI’s late surge crack GT’s fortress?
The 2025 IPL Eliminator is all set for a high-stakes clash on May 30, featuring Gujarat Titans (GT) and Mumbai Indians (MI). GT have looked the more settled unit this season with 9 wins from 14 games, staying consistently in the top half of the table. In contrast, MI had a shaky start but showed strong fightback spirit, clawing their way into the playoffs in the dying stages of the league.
However, history doesn’t favour MI – GT have dominated their head-to-head, winning 4 out of 5 encounters, including both matches this season. On paper, MI look to be the underdogs.
