RSA vs PAK 2024 3rd ODI – Pakistan started strong to finish the series
From a nail-biting Game 1 to a one-sided loss in Game 2, South Africa seemed to run out of breath as the ODI series went on. Pakistan wasted no time in taking control, with rising star, half-all-rounder Saim Ayub stunning the hosts with a brilliant 101 as opener. His century set the tone from the very start and pushed South Africa on the back foot early. The shortened format caused by rain may have spared South Africa from an even bigger margin, but the gap between the two sides was already clear.

RSA vs PAK – Saim Ayub rose up again scored his second century for Win
Saim Ayub bounced back strongly from his 25 in the previous match by scoring his second century of the series. He also impressed us with bowling, keeping things tight at just 3.4 economy in his 10 overs. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan added further strength, building 105 runs between the powerplay and middle overs. The only setback came when Kamran Ghulam, who was outstanding in the last match, got out first ball. Still, Pakistan’s mix of attacking batting and disciplined bowling gave them a commanding lead and left South Africa facing another uphill battle.

RSA vs PAK – Team failed to match Pakistan’s power in batting runs
South Africa showed only a slight improvement with a higher score in shorter innings due to the heavy rain, but once again failed to turn the series around and ended with a 3-0 result. Helpers did show up in this game, Marco Jansen added 23 more runs than his previous outing, while Corbin Bosch, brought into the side, tried to lift the mood with 40 runs in the later overs, and Heinrich Klaasen, the tragic hero of the series, top-scored again with 81. However, even his fight could not match the total Pakistan had built. In the end, South Africa were left playing in the shadow of Pakistan’s dominance as the visitors sealed a 3-0 clean sweep.

RAS vs PAK – Conclusion
When we look back at the bowling numbers, South Africa and Pakistan were not very different, with both sides showing a similar average economy rate. The real difference came from the batting levels. Pakistan had reliable stars in Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan to give a strong base, while the young talent Saim Ayub also started to shine in this series.
On the other side, South Africa depended almost completely on Heinrich Klaasen, whose average of 88 runs kept the games from looking even more one-sided. From another angle, South Africa may actually be more comfortable in shorter formats. Before the RSA vs PAK 2024 ODI series began, they had beaten Pakistan 2-0 in the T20Is, showing that in short matches they are not as weak as the 3-0 ODI result might suggest.
