WI vs BAN 2024 3rd ODI – Carty and Debutant Jangoo Lead Record Chase to Sweep Bangladesh
The West Indies created history with a thrilling win over Bangladesh, completing a clean sweep of the series and setting a new record for the highest successful run chase at Warner Park. Bangladesh had piled up a formidable 321 on a rain-hit day. But the mood changed completely when Kacey Carty and debutant Amir Jangoo came together at the crease. They added 132 priceless runs for the fifth wicket, Jangoo, playing his very first ODI, brought up a memorable century and carried West Indies to one of their greatest run chases.

WI vs BAN 2024 3rd ODI – The Bangla Tiger Roar with Record 150-Run Partnership
The Bangla Tigers followed a similar script but with a far better outcome. When they were tottering at 148 for five in the 30th over, Mahmudullah’s composed 84 and Jaker Ali’s fluent 62 changed the course of the innings. Their partnership added 150 runs for the sixth wicket, which became Bangladesh’s highest sixth‑wicket stand against West Indies in ODIs. What looked like a modest total of around 240 to 250 was transformed into a commanding 321 for five, which at that stage appeared good enough to win the match.

WI vs BAN 2024 3rd ODI – West Indies’ Young Guns Carty and Jangoo Rescue Team with Crucial 132-Run
Just as Bangladesh had done earlier, West Indies too lost early wickets cheaply. At that stage, Keacy Carty came in and steadied the innings while debutant Amir Jangoo batted with controlled aggression. The two gradually built a crucial partnership, adding 132 runs in about 20 overs. It was a rare occasion when two relatively new players, with Jangoo on debut and Carty still inexperienced, carried West Indies through the pressure of a big chase.

WI vs BAN 2024 3rd ODI – Can Mahmudullah and Jaker Ali Outplay Windies Pace at Arnos Vale?
Bangladesh openers struggled against new-ball swing and bounce from West Indies pace bowlers, but Mahmudullah’s stabilising knock and Jaker Ali’s finishing showed Bangladesh’s strengths. As they move to Arnos Vale Ground for the T20I series, conditions are likely to favour West Indies’ fast bowlers early. Bangladesh, however, rely on smart strike rotation and late acceleration rather than pure power, which could be decisive in the shorter format. Who will handle the pressure better this time?

WI vs BAN 2024 3rd ODI – Venue History&Analysis: Warner Park
Stadium Capacity: Around 8,000 spectators.
Stadium Address: Warner Park Sporting Complex, Lozac Road, Basseterre, St Kitts, St Kitts and Nevis.
About the Stadium:
There was one particularly entertaining moment during the 2024 CPL at Warner Park. In that match, Shimron Hetmyer of the Guyana Amazon Warriors played a sensational knock of 91 runs from just 39 balls. What made it truly extraordinary was that he struck 11 sixes without hitting a single four. This unusual feat grabbed everyone’s attention and provided pure entertainment, with every maximum sending the fans to the edge of their seats.

The venue itself adds to the excitement with its carnival-like atmosphere. Music fills the ground throughout, and every six or wicket sets off horns, whistles and DJ beats that heighten the energy. Fans turn up in bright national colours such as red, green and yellow of St Kitts or the jerseys of their favourite CPL franchises. To add to the spectacle, most CPL matches are played in the evenings where floodlights and fireworks after every big hit give the feeling of a cricketing concert.
