New Zealand powered into the T20 World Cup final with a dominant nine-wicket victory over previously unbeaten South Africa in Kolkata. The Black Caps’ bowlers laid the platform first, with Cole McConchie striking twice in one over to remove Quinton de Kock and Ryan Rickelton, while Rachin Ravindra and Mitchell Santner tightened the screws through the middle. South Africa slipped to 77 for 5 before Marco Jansen’s counterattacking 55 lifted them to 169 for 8. However, the total proved far from enough as New Zealand’s openers dismantled the chase with ruthless efficiency.

Finn Allen then produced one of the most explosive innings ever seen in a T20 World Cup. The opener smashed an astonishing 100 not out off just 33 balls, the fastest century in the tournament’s history, hammering 18 boundaries and overwhelming every South African bowling option. Tim Seifert set the early tempo with a brisk 58, but Allen soon took complete control, racing to a 19-ball fifty before accelerating even further. His relentless hitting turned the semi-final into a one-sided spectacle and sealed New Zealand’s place in the final with more than seven overs to spare.
