Last Day was pure sporting chaos. South Africa started with only three wickets left and basically zero margin for error. Bavuma said “watch this” and dragged them to 153 with an ice-cool unbeaten 55, suddenly turning 124 into a monster fourth-innings target. Then Jansen and Harmer unleashed pure nightmare fuel. Balls shot up, stayed low, jumped sideways, and India’s chase crumbled before it even began. Pant was tied down, Jadeja trapped again, Axar tried swinging for miracles, but South Africa would not blink. India folded for 93, and South Africa erupted in joy. Their first Test win in India since 2010. What a story.

Stumps: South lead by 63 runs.

Day two was absolute Test cricket madness. India walked in looking comfortable, then the pitch turned into a carnival ride. KL Rahul’s 39 looked like a century as balls kept spitting, skidding, and leaping for no reason. India scraped a 30 run lead and looked ready to pull away. Then South Africa went out to bat and instantly walked into a blender. Wickets fell like dominoes, Jadeja spun webs everywhere, and Bavuma once again became the grown-up in the room, blocking everything India threw at him. By stumps South Africa were 93 for 7, ahead by only 63. India smiled. The script smiled back.

Stumps: South lead by 122 runs.

First Day!  Felt like a survival challenge more than a Test match. South Africa scrapped and clawed their way to 159, a total that looked tiny on paper but felt like gold on a pitch that acted like it had mood swings. Edges flew, bounce jumped, and India’s bowlers smelled blood all morning. Bumrah’s five-for crackled through Eden Gardens and left the visitors wobbling. India started steadily in reply, but even their top order knew this pitch had traps everywhere. At 37 for 1, 122 behind, the match was already showing its chaotic personality.
