ENG vs WI 3rd ODI Match Results
updated:England beat West Indies by 7 wickets. (Match reduced to 40 overs due to rain, DLS target 246)
| WI | ENG |
| 251/9 (40) | 246/3 (29.4) |
England turned up late but turned it on at The Oval, chasing down a DLS-adjusted target of 246 with time, and wickets, to spare. Jamie Smith lit up London with a blazing 64 off just 28 balls, cracking 10 fours and three sixes in a fearless Powerplay assault. Duckett chipped in with a sharp 58, Root looked smooth with 44, and Buttler sealed it with a six to hand new skipper Harry Brook a dream 3-0 series sweep. Not bad for a side that’s been stumbling in white-ball cricket this year.

The West Indies had a rough ride, literally and figuratively. Their team bus crawled through London traffic, and their innings never really sped up either. Sherfane Rutherford stood tall with 70, and Gudakesh Motie surprised everyone with a counter-punching 63 at No. 8. But England’s bowling—led by Adil Rashid’s crafty 3-for—kept things under control. It was England’s first ODI series win since 2023 and a much-needed confidence booster on the road to the 2027 World Cup.
