England lit up Bristol with a sizzling chase as they edged past West Indies by four wickets in a high-octane second T20I! Despite being blasted for 15 sixes and conceding 75 runs in the last four overs, England held their nerve chasing 197. Jos Buttler once again led from the front with a classy 47, while Harry Brook and Ben Duckett chipped in with quickfire knocks. But it was the young guns — Tom Banton and Jacob Bethell who really stole the show, smashing 56 off just 21 balls between them to ice the game with nine balls to spare.
Well, that is some start! 😱

West Indies weren’t shy with the bat either. Hope and Charles brought the fireworks early on, and Jason Holder nearly flipped the script with a savage late surge that included five sixes in one Rashid over. But England had an ace up their sleeve in Luke Wood, who made a triumphant return with 2 for 25 and some seriously spicy swing. With the series now sealed 2-0, all eyes turn to Southampton, and let’s be honest, if this series has taught us anything, it’s that no total is safe when England gets chasing.

ENG vs WI 2025 2nd T20I: The three-match series heads to Seat Unique Stadium for Game 2
This is the second T20I between West Indies and England, and it’s being played at the Seat Unique Stadium. Interestingly, these two teams have faced each other only twice at this ground—once in 2012 and again in 2024. Both teams have one win each here-West Indies won in 2012, while England took the victory in 2024. Though England beat West Indies here last year, the match was quite close, meaning neither team has a clear home advantage at this neutral venue. With both sides evenly matched, expect a tight contest—winning won’t come easy for either team!

England’s Key Players to Watch
- Jos Buttler (c & wk) – Buttler’s explosive batting and smart captaincy make him vital. On Bristol’s short boundaries, his aggressive start can set a huge total or chase anything. His leadership in managing bowlers on a batting-friendly pitch will be crucial.
- Phil Salt – Salt’s fearless power-hitting suits Bristol’s flat track. If he fires early, England gain momentum fast. His ability to dominate pace bowling gives England a strong platform in powerplays.
- Adil Rashid – Rashid’s variations (googly, flipper) can trouble WI’s big hitters. On a ground where pacers risk being smashed, his economical middle-over spells could decide the game.
- Jofra Archer – Archer’s 150+ kph pace and pinpoint yorkers are lethal, especially in death overs. His return boosts England’s attack, making him key in restricting WI’s power-hitters.

West Indies’s Key Players to Watch
- Nicholas Pooran (wk) – Pooran’s 360-degree hitting is perfect for Bristol’s small boundaries. If he settles, he can dismantle any bowling attack, especially spinners, in the middle overs.
- Andre Russell – Russell’s brute power and death-overs bowling make him a game-changer. His cameos (30+ off 10 balls) or quick wickets could swing momentum in WI’s favor.
- Alzarri Joseph – Joseph’s raw pace and well-disguised slower balls are vital against England’s deep batting. His yorkers in the death overs could prevent a late surge.
- Akeal Hosein – Hosein’s tight lines and subtle turn can stifle England’s middle order. On a ground where pace gets punished, his economical spells are invaluable.

ENG vs WI 2025 2nd T20I – Venue: County Ground
Stadium Capacity: Approximately 17,500 spectators
Stadium Address: Nevil Rd, Bishopston, Bristol BS7 9EJ, UK
Stadium Features: Bristol’s County Ground, also known as the Seat Unique Stadium, is a cricket venue located in England. It was established in 1889 after being purchased by legendary cricketer W. G. Grace and has since served as the home ground of Gloucestershire County Cricket Club. With a history spanning 135 years, the stadium’s ownership has changed hands twice—first to a confectionery company and later to an insurance company—before being reacquired by the club. Today, the team holds full operational and ownership rights.
The stadium hosted its first international match in 1983, a full 94 years after its founding. However, to ensure better development for both the venue and the club, there are ongoing considerations to relocate the stadium to South Gloucestershire. The exact timeline for this move has yet to be finalized.
