Zimbabwe sealed the series in style, grabbing a 5-wicket win over Namibia in the second T20I at Bulawayo! Chasing 170, the Chevrons made it look like a casual stroll, thanks to a blazing 50 off 36 balls by Tadiwanashe Marumani, who was rightly named Player of the Match. Brian Bennett added some early fireworks with a rapid 40, and despite a few speed bumps, Ryan Burl calmly finished things off in the 19th over. Namibia tried to claw back with some late wickets, but the damage had already been done.

It is also his sixth half-century in T20Is!

Earlier, Namibia put up a solid 169/6, with Loftie-Eaton cracking 47 and Malan Kruger anchoring with 45. But Zimbabwe’s bowlers, especially Brad Evans and Richard Ngarava, kept their cool, picking up two wickets apiece. A tight final over from Evans made sure Namibia didn’t get any late boost. With this win, Zimbabwe now leads the series 2-0, and the third match? Well, it’s more of a formality at this point!
A clinical performance hands Zimbabwe an unassailable 2-0 series lead over Namibia in the T20I series 🏏

ZIM vs NAM 2025 2nd T20I – The Competitiveness as an Underdog
Zimbabwe’s recent series against Sri Lanka tells a different story of losing it 1-2, they competed hard against a side ranked four places higher. Their highlight was a dominant win in the second T20I, where captain Sikandar Raza’s 3 for 11 runs at just 2.8 economy led the way. Overall, Zimbabwe’s bowlers conceded only 4.6 runs per over while taking nine wickets to seal the victory. Even in their losses, they were never blown away, in fact, they came within one over of defending a win in the opener, showing how close the series really was. This resilience against stronger opposition underlines Zimbabwe’s growing maturity and makes them a far tougher challenge than the teams Namibia dominated earlier this year.

ZIM vs NAM – The Concern Behind the Victory
Namibia came into 2025 with a strong 3-0 sweep over Canada in T20Is, but the record needs context. Both Canada and USA who they took on around that time sit below them in rankings, so these wins don’t fully prove Namibia’s strength against higher opposition. Their recent ODI defeat to Scotland, a team slightly above them, highlighted this gap. The game ended in just 24 overs, almost like a T20I, and Namibia’s most of T20 form players selections still couldn’t handle the challenge. It underlines that when Namibia face stronger sides, they still struggle to adapt.

ZIM vs NAM – Only the Easy Spot Win
In the Namibia vs Canada series, matches were played at the Namibia Cricket Ground, known for batting-friendly surfaces. Without any real pace threats in Canada’s lineup, Namibia’s openers dominated the powerplay, often scoring 50 runs inside the first five overs. On the other hand, Namibia’s own spearhead Ruben Trumpelmann stood out with seven wickets in three games, including a fiery 4/28. These conditions suited Namibia perfectly, showed that their dominance came mainly from home advantage and weaker opposition of their opponent. Facing Zimbabwe’s seamers attack in Bulawayo will be a very different challenge, especially not on their home court.

ZIM vs NAM – Conclusion
When comparing the two sides, Namibia’s wins over weaker teams don’t carry the same weight as Zimbabwe’s hard-fought battles against a higher-ranked Sri Lanka. Zimbabwe will find the bowling rhythm at home, led by Raza’s spin and the support of Muzarabani and Evans. With stronger opposition experience and home advantage in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe are well placed to claim victory in the 2nd T20I and tighten their grip on the series. If their bowlers strike early, Zimbabwe could seal this game before Namibia settle. The victory would be Zimbabwe’s, since there are no room for Namibia to utilize their strength at all in Queens Sports Club.

ZIM vs NAM 2025 2nd T20I – Venue History&Analysis: Queens Sports Club
Stadium Capacity: Around 9,000 spectators
Stadium Address: Parkview, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe
About the Stadium:
Queens Sports Club was founded in 1890, making it one of the oldest sporting venues in Zimbabwe. Originally established during the colonial period as a multi-sport facility, it grew into the heartbeat of cricket in Bulawayo. The ground became internationally recognized in 1996 when Zimbabwe and England produced a dramatic Test that ended with scores level, the first such result in cricket history. That unforgettable moment put both the national team and the stadium firmly on the cricketing map. Since then, it has hosted major events including fixtures during the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup.

The stadium remains a centerpiece for cricket in Matabeleland, with a capacity of around 9,000. Its pitches are known for slowing down as matches progress, often turning contests into battles of spin versus patience. For local fans, Queens is more than a sports venue; it is a place of identity and pride. Every international match staged here connects back to the ground’s rich history, making it a landmark of both Zimbabwean cricket and Bulawayo’s community life.
