Scotland T20I Tri-Series 2025 6th Match Results
updated:Scotland beat Nepal by 34 runs.
| Scotland | Nepal |
| 193/5 (20) | 159 (18.5) |
Scotland wrapped up their tri-series in style with a 34-run win over Nepal, thanks to a fireworks-filled 100-run stand between George Munsey and Brandon McMullen. Munsey was in beast mode, smashing 78 off just 39 balls, while McMullen added a steady 42. Things looked a bit shaky when both fell in quick succession, but a late surge by Leask and Cross pushed the total to a solid 193 for 5. That finishing kick turned out to be crucial.

Nepal, chasing 194, got off to a nightmare start, losing four wickets before even hitting the sixth over. Dipendra Singh Airee tried to hold things together with a patient 34, and Rupesh Singh spiced things up with a fiery unbeaten 43, but it wasn’t enough. Chris Greaves spun through the middle order with 3 for 27, and the rest of Scotland’s bowlers chipped in smartly. In the end, Nepal came up short, and Scotland walked away with bragging rights and the best net run-rate of the bunch.

SCO vs NEP 2025 6th T20I – Every Match Has a Winner and a Loser
As the title suggests, every match will have a winner and a loser. While I can’t predict whether Scotland or the Netherlands will clinch the series, I can say with confidence that Nepal is likely to finish last. The disparity in team strengths is evident, and the conditions at Forthill are not in Nepal’s favour. It’s hard to see a scenario where Nepal isn’t at the bottom.
SCO vs NEP – Is Nepal Just a Run Bank?
This isn’t a bilateral series; it’s a tri-nation series. Both Scotland and the Netherlands will be aiming for the championship. Even though this series isn’t ICC-sanctioned, the results will still impact rankings. Historically, Nepal’s performance has been underwhelming; in the 2023 tri-series, they managed just one win out of four matches. Forthill’s challenging conditions make it even more difficult for Nepal. However, if Scotland and the Netherlands make mistakes, Nepal might capitalise, provided they’re prepared.
SCO vs NEP – Can Nepal Do Better Than 1 Win, 3 Losses?
Looking back at the 2023 tri-series, Nepal’s sole victory came against the Netherlands, thanks to a rain-affected match and the DLS method. This time, with matches scheduled in June at Forthill, the chances of rain interruptions are lower. If all matches proceed without weather disruptions, the focus will shift to the teams’ on-field performances.
SCO vs NEP – If Nepal Wins, Who Will They Defeat?
If Nepal manages a win, it could be against either team, but under different circumstances. Against the Netherlands, rain could play a role, as both teams have traditional playing styles and might be affected by weather interruptions. Against Scotland, the unpredictable conditions at Forthill could lead to errors, offering Nepal an opportunity to capitalise.
SCO vs NEP – Is Nepal Just a Filler Team?
While it may seem harsh, Nepal’s current world ranking reflects their standing. Despite having promising players like Kushal Bhurtel, Kushal Malla, and Aasif Sheikh, the gap in international experience is significant. However, this series presents an opportunity for growth. If Nepal can secure a win, it will be a step forward; if not, the experience gained will be invaluable for future competitions.

SCO vs NEP 2025 6th T20I – Key Players to Watch
Scotland’s Key Players to Watch
- George Munsey – Forthill is where George Munsey shines. In 2019, he scored 127* here as part of Scotland’s record 252-run total. He averages 52 against Nepal with a strike rate of 176.5, including 72* off 50 balls in 2023. He thrives particularly against Karan KC, scoring 1.8 runs per ball. With short boundaries and wind-assisted hitting conditions, Munsey’s aggressive style is a perfect fit for this ground.
- Mark Watt – Forthill’s wind conditions amplify Mark Watt’s left-arm spin, making his drift and flight more deceptive. He took 3 for 12 against Nepal in 2023 and holds a strong economy rate of 5.9. Watt has removed Rohit Paudel three times and claimed 9 wickets in his last five matches against Nepal. The soft pitch and damp outfield help him control the tempo in the middle overs.
- Brandon McMullen – McMullen is effective on slower pitches like Forthill, relying on ground strokes for over 60 percent of his runs. He averages 55 in his last three games against Nepal, including 72* in 2023. His strike rate against Sompal Kami stands at 148.6. With his ability to rotate strike and absorb pressure, he is a reliable presence in the middle order under tough conditions.
- Safyaan Sharif – Sharif’s yorker accuracy makes him a lethal option in the final overs, especially on low-bounce surfaces like Forthill. He defended a last over in 2022 with 2 for 6 and consistently contains Dipendra Airee, conceding just 1.2 runs per ball. His control and experience make him crucial in tight finishes where execution is everything.

Nepal’s Key Players to Watch
- Kushal Malla – Forthill’s short boundaries (55-60m) suit his aggressive hitting—he smashed six sixes against the Netherlands in 2023 (T20I SR 158.7). Dominates Scotland’s bowling, averaging 35+ with a match-winning 50* (24) in 2022. Struggles against Mark Watt (3 dismissals) but targets right-arm pacers like Karan KC (1.8 runs/ball).
- Dipendra Singh Airee – Master of reverse sweeps and gap-finding, thriving on Forthill’s uneven bounce. Scored 59* vs Netherlands (2023) with a death-over SR of 182.3. Owns Scotland’s Safyaan Sharif (12% dismissal rate) and averages 45 in last 3 clashes.
- Sompal Kami – Wind-assisted swing at Forthill gives him an edge—economy 6.8 vs Scotland (2023). Specializes in short balls to trap hitters like George Munsey (3 dismissals). Took 8 wickets in last 5 Scotland games, 4 at similar venues.
- Lalit Rajbanshi – His accuracy (career economy 6.2) limits sixes in small grounds. Ripped through Scotland in 2022 (2/18). Owns Richie Berrington (22 runs, 2 dismissals).

SCO vs NEP 2025 6th T20I – Venue History&Analysis: Forthill Cricket Ground
Stadium Capacity: Open-air
Stadium Address: Broughty Ferry, Dundee, Angus, Scotland
Stadium History:
The history of Forthill Cricket Ground has been mentioned several times in the first five matches, so it won’t be repeated in detail here. Simply put, Forthill has a temperate maritime climate with year-round damp, cold, and windy conditions. Since it is not one of Scotland’s main stadiums and local football is more popular, it hosts fewer international matches. For more detailed information, you can check the article SCO vs NEP 2025 3rd T20I Match – A match of complete dominance, does Nepal still have a chance?
Stadium Features:
The features have also been discussed multiple times. In short, the stadium is very humid, windy, and has a soft pitch. While this doesn’t prevent matches from being held, it affects both batters and bowlers to a certain extent. For more details, see SCO vs NED 2025 4th T20I Match – Prediction for Scotland vs Netherlands is One Win Each
Advantage Analysis:
Playing at Forthill definitely gives Scotland an advantage, as they are the home team. Additionally, the current T20I highest team total record at this ground was set by Scotland in June 2019 against the Netherlands, scoring 253 runs. However, this was influenced by many factors and is difficult to replicate. That year, Scotland experienced unusually dry weather with very little rainfall, almost no wind on match day, and the boundary sizes were deliberately shortened, all contributing to this high score.
Although Scotland is unlikely to reproduce such a score again, beating Nepal should be easy for them. Scotland is very familiar with this ground, while Nepal, whom I’ve mentioned several times, is unfamiliar with the venue and climate. Moreover, Nepal’s players are quite young, and adapting fully within just six days while performing exceptionally is extremely challenging.
