India wrapped up the third ODI at the SCG with a breezy nine-wicket win over Australia, and wow, what a show from Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli! Rohit powered his way to his 33rd ODI century off just 105 balls, while Kohli bounced back from two early ducks with an unbeaten 74. The pair put on an unbroken 168-run stand that made chasing 237 look like a walk in the park. Boundaries flew, sixes landed in the stands, and the crowd of over 40,000 couldn’t get enough, Rohit with his elegant drives and Kohli with those trademark flicks and straight hits.

Australia had seemed in control, with Matt Renshaw hitting his first ODI fifty and Travis Head keeping the scoreboard ticking, but a sudden collapse, 7 wickets for 53 runs, saw them bowled out for 236. Harshit Rana shone with 4 for 39, while India’s spinners kept the pressure on. Even though Australia had already won the series, this final match gave India a sweet, consolation victory. In the end, it was a classy display from Rohit and Kohli, a reminder that legends can always turn a game around, even on foreign soil.

AUS vs IND 2025 3rd ODI – Will Kangaroo Jump Back In For the Finale?
As the last game of the series arrives, India are already expected to have sealed the series, just as predicted from the first and second matches. This likely means they will not use their full-strength lineup. But still, India remain the world’s number one team, and even with rotation, they are never easy to beat. Australia, on the other hand, continue to search for rhythm and confidence. Their form has been uneven, yet small cracks could appear if the Kangaroos are ready to strike back with intent and discipline in this final encounter.

AUS vs IND – Something Before the Shiny Record
Hard to believe, but just before their 5-0 ODI winning run, India had stumbled against Sri Lanka in a 2-0 defeat with one tied match. That sudden slip raised a few questions about India’s consistency under changing conditions. The damage came mainly from Sri Lanka’s left-arm spinner Dunith Wellalage, who took seven wickets across the series and restricted India’s scoring in the late Powerplays and early middle overs. His control and variation forced India into errors, while leg spinner Jeffrey Vandersay, brought in due to injury elsewhere, surprised everyone with six wickets in a single game. That mix of spin completely caught India off guard.

AUS vs IND – Australia’s Final Aims
If Australia want to put up a serious fight in the final ODI, they will need to attack with spin in a similar way. The issue, however, lies in depth. The squad has no true right-arm leg spinner apart from Adam Zampa, their primary specialist. Cooper Connolly, who bowls occasional left-arm orthodox, might add support, but neither offers the same mystery or control as Sri Lanka’s pair. With conditions providing slight grip rather than sharp turn, Australia’s spin threat remains limited, giving India little to fear. A more practical approach could be opening with Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh, using aggression to push early runs as spin conditions unfold.

AUS vs IND – Bring it On, the T20I Got Next
As the final ODI arrives, the series feels like an opera reaching its last act, full of rhythm and emotion. India are likely to lead the performance again, with Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel spinning their variety to control the flow of play. While India may already be looking toward the upcoming T20I series, they aim to finish this one with dominance and momentum. But the T20I side of Australia will not give up easily. That squad carries more balance and fresh energy, and once the format changes, the contest could shift into a far more open battle.
