Krishna and Mohammed Siraj secured two dismissals each as England were inching slowly towards taking a first-innings lead. However, the brilliance of Jasprit Bumrah struck England at the crucial juncture of the game, and when India needed it the most. Bumrah went past the defence of Chris Woakes (38), who was looking dangerous with his boundary-hitting abilities. Then, the star pacer broke the furniture of Josh Tongue (11) with a similar delivery that nipped back in sharply. Bumrah went past Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram (146 wickets) to become the Asian with the most Test wickets in SENA countries. The right-arm pacer reached the milestone in his 32nd Test, similar to Akram. It is worth noting that Bumrah holds a commendable average of 20.88, which is the lowest among the top 10 wicket-takers from Asian countries in the SENA region. Meanwhile, other Indian bowlers like Anil Kumble (141 wickets), Ishant Sharma (130 wickets), and Mohammed Shami (123 wickets) have also done well in SENA countries.
