Sunrisers Hyderabad gave it a shot. Abhishek Sharma went full throttle with 74 off 40, but chasing 225 is no joke. Travis Head got out to a screamer of a catch from Rashid Khan, and that’s when the wheels started coming off. Prasidh Krishna bowled with ice in his veins, grabbing two wickets for just 19 runs and pushing the asking rate into the stratosphere. Siraj added more pressure with two wickets of his own, and the GT bowlers shut the door on any late heroics. Final result? A comfy 38-run win for GT, who now sit pretty near the top of the table, while SRH are hanging by a thread in the playoff race.

This will be the second encounter of the season between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The first encounter will take place on April 6. Last year, the teams faced each other twice, with the first match taking place at GT’s home ground, Narendra Modi Stadium, where GT won by 7 wickets. The second match was supposed to be held at SRH’s home ground, but it was canceled for some reason, so technically, they only played one match in GT’s home ground. Honestly, I was surprised that GT won against SRH because GT finished 8th in the IPL 2024 standings, while SRH was the runner-up.
