Punjab Kings (PBKS) are on a roll with consistent performances across all departments in the 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They are the only undefeated team in IPL 2026, with five wins and a washout in six games. With 11 points in their bank, PBKS are sitting at the top of the table. Notably, they emerged as the runner-up last season and have continued their brilliant form. Let’s take a look at how the Shreyas Iyer-led side has created a record for the longest unbeaten run in IPL after the first six matches.
Recap of PBKS’ Six Matches in IPL 2026
Punjab Kings kicked off their IPL 2026 campaign against the Gujarat Titans. The bowling unit, led by Vijaykumar Vyashak’s three-fer, did well to restrict the Titans to 162. Then, Cooper Connolly played a brilliant 72*-run knock to help the Kings get over the line in the last over.

The duo stitched a 182-run stand off 81 balls to boost PBKS’ total to 254, which is the highest in the 2026 edition. Then, LSG could only reach 200, and lost by 54 runs. PBKS are now the only undefeated team in IPL 2026, and are looking strong to dominate the opposition in the coming games as well. With the longest unbeaten run in IPL in the first six games, Punjab Kings’ team record sets them well for qualifying for the playoffs. The dangerous batting unit, along with an impressive bowling attack, should keep them confident of prevailing over their opponents. Four batters of PBKS have scored 200+ runs, with Prabhsimran and Arya leading the list with 211 runs each. Among the bowlers, Arshdeep and Vyashak have picked six wickets each.

Punjab Kings’ Team Record Sets Benchmark
Punjab Kings have been an unstoppable force in the 2026 edition, with players from all departments acing their role well. As a result, Kings now have broken their own record in terms of unbeaten run in the cash-rich league. The Punjab-based franchise (then Kings XI Punjab) won their first five games in the South Africa leg of the 2014 edition.

However, after returning to India, the George Bailey-led team lost their first game against the Mumbai Indians, thus ending their victorious run. They went on to continue their impressive performance and eventually emerged as the runner-up that season after losing to the Kolkata Knight Riders.

The 2026 edition has now seen PBKS going past their record in the first half of the tournament with no losses in six games. They will now look to target the Knight Riders’ longest unbeaten run in IPL (single season), where they secured nine straight wins in 2014. Although it will be a tough feat to conquer, the Punjab Kings’ team record is already a daunting one, and they are likely to be successful in continuing as the only undefeated team in IPL 2026.
