Intense Bidding for Jos Buttler in IPL 2025 Auction
The bidding process for Buttler was a spectacle, beginning with his former team, Rajasthan Royals, and soon escalating as Gujarat Titans joined the fray. The bidding war intensified, with Rajasthan Royals dropping out when the price reached ₹9.75 crore, allowing Buttler to potentially move to a new team. Punjab Kings, fresh off their acquisition of Shreyas Iyer, then entered the race, driving the bid to ₹13.5 crore before pulling out. It was at this point that Lucknow Super Giants joined the competition, pushing the bid to a remarkable ₹15.75 crore. Ultimately, it was Gujarat Titans who secured Buttler’s services, winning the bidding war and adding a world-class player to their ranks.

Jos Buttler’s New Career in Gujarat Titans
Gujarat Titans’ director of cricket, Vikram Solanki, also weighed in on the team’s auction strategy, expressing satisfaction with the squad they had built so far. “We are pleased with the team we have assembled. While there are a limited number of players in the initial rounds, we executed our plan and the team is taking shape nicely. However, we still need to fill some strategic roles as we look ahead to a number of exceptional players set to come into the mix tomorrow.” Solanki commented.
With Jos Buttler now on board, Gujarat Titans are poised to strengthen their already formidable batting lineup for the IPL 2025 season. The acquisition of the England star adds significant depth and experience, making the Titans one of the teams to watch in the upcoming season.
