Just when Kolkata Knight Riders looked like they had finally found momentum again, Virat Kohli arrived with one of those nights that completely changes the mood of a season. The latest IPL 2026 RCB vs KKR highlights saw Royal Challengers Bengaluru climb back to the top of the table, while KKR’s playoff hopes took a massive hit after a six-wicket defeat in Raipur. More importantly, Kohli silenced all the chatter after back-to-back ducks with a vintage hundred that reminded everyone why he is still called “King Kohli”.

KKR Start Well But Miss Their Moment
The official RCB vs KKR match result might show a comfortable chase in the end, but KKR actually started the evening in a fairly promising way. After the match was delayed because of a wet outfield, Ajinkya Rahane’s side came out looking positive on a batting-friendly surface.

Finn Allen once again looked dangerous early on. Fresh from his century against Delhi Capitals, the New Zealand batter attacked Jacob Duffy straight away and gave KKR some much-needed energy in the powerplay. However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar quickly reminded everyone why RCB invested so heavily in experience this season. A clever cross-seam delivery found Allen’s edge and gave Bengaluru the breakthrough they badly needed.

Rahane also looked fluent before Josh Hazlewood produced one of those uncomfortable short-of-length deliveries that climbed awkwardly and forced a miscued pull. At that stage, the innings could easily have drifted, but Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Cameron Green steadied things brilliantly. He rotated strike smartly, picked the right bowlers to attack, and never looked rushed. Green supported him nicely with a controlled 32, especially targeting Krunal Pandya whenever the left-arm spinner missed his lengths. The partnership pushed KKR back into the contest, and once Green departed, Rinku Singh took over beautifully at the death.

Raghuvanshi And Rinku Nearly Take Control
KKR looked ready for a massive finish after the 16-over mark. Raghuvanshi accelerated confidently and brought up an impressive 71 off 46 deliveries, while Rinku continued his superb finishing form with an unbeaten 49 from only 29 balls. The pair handled pressure brilliantly and gave KKR hope of crossing 200 comfortably. However, the closing overs changed the entire rhythm of the innings. RCB’s pace attack executed yorkers superbly, particularly Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar, who kept missing the bat at crucial moments.

That final spell probably became one of the more underrated moments from the IPL 2026 RCB vs KKR highlights. KKR managed only 39 runs from the final four overs despite having wickets in hand. On a surface that looked easier for batting later in the evening, those missing runs eventually became crucial.
Kohli Turns Pressure Into A Statement
The entire mood of the chase changed after one early moment. Debutant left-arm seamer Saurabh Dubey actually bowled a brilliant opening over. He beat Jacob Bethell multiple times and even had Kohli looking slightly cautious. But once Kohli survived that tricky opening spell, everything started flowing naturally.

Vaibhav Arora then made the mistake almost every bowler eventually makes against Kohli — drifting onto his pads. Kohli punished him immediately, and suddenly RCB were flying. One massive moment in the RCB vs KKR match result came when Rovman Powell dropped Kohli on 21. It was not an easy chance, but in matches this important, those moments decide seasons. KKR paid heavily for it.

Kohli slowly moved through the gears in classic fashion. There was no panic, no reckless hitting, just complete control of the chase. His partnership with Devdutt Padikkal completely removed pressure from the equation. Padikkal’s fluent 39 allowed Kohli to settle deeper into the innings, and once the required rate stayed manageable, the game began slipping away from KKR. Another major issue for Kolkata was their fielding. Alongside Powell’s missed chance, Vaibhav Arora also dropped Padikkal later in the innings. Against a side like RCB, those mistakes are usually fatal.

Vintage Kohli Returns At The Perfect Time
This innings felt different because it combined patience with authority. Kohli did not simply blast boundaries from ball one. Instead, he controlled the chase through timing, placement, and clever running between the wickets before expanding late in the innings. The six straight down the ground off Anukul Roy was probably the cleanest shot of the evening. Then came that trademark whipped six off Kartik Tyagi that reminded everyone how dangerous Kohli becomes once he settles. By the time the final overs arrived, the entire stadium could sense what was coming.

Kohli eventually brought up his century in 58 balls and finished unbeaten on 105 from 60 deliveries. Jitesh Sharma then smashed the winning boundary to officially complete the RCB vs KKR match result, sealing victory with five balls remaining.

Records Everywhere For Kohli
The IPL 2026 RCB vs KKR highlights were not only about the win. Kohli ended the night rewriting record books once again. He became the most-capped player in IPL history, overtaking MS Dhoni. He also crossed 14,000 T20 runs and became the fastest batter ever to reach that milestone, beating Chris Gayle’s previous record.

On top of that, this was Kohli’s 10th T20 century and his ninth IPL hundred overall. Considering he entered the match after scores of zero and zero in his previous two innings, the comeback made the night even more dramatic. Great players often respond strongest when pressure peaks, and Kohli absolutely delivered when RCB needed him most.

For Bengaluru, the victory pushed them back to the top of the table and strengthened their hopes of securing a top-two finish. For KKR, though, the RCB vs KKR match result leaves very little room for error in the remaining league matches.
