The 2026 IPL mini auction is around the corner, and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will look to fine-tune its squad after a mixed 2025 season. Despite flashes of brilliance, SRH’s campaign lacked consistency, and several big names underperformed.

Predicted 5 Names on SRH Released Players List
As a result, the 2026 SRH released players list could feature some surprising names. With teams allowed limited changes due to the mini-auction format, SRH will likely focus on freeing up funds and bringing in impact players. Let’s take a look at some probable names who could be released ahead of IPL 2026.

Ishan Kishan
Role: Wicketkeeper Batter (India)
Once expected to be the explosive top-order solution for SRH, Ishan Kishan’s 2025 IPL season didn’t live up to expectations. Despite scoring 354 runs in 14 matches, his inconsistency cost SRH crucial games. A single century aside, his inability to convert starts regularly, and his hefty price tag make him a likely candidate on the 2026 SRH released players list. For a franchise like SRH that values stability and cost-effectiveness, releasing Ishan would help them reallocate funds toward a more reliable opener or middle-order anchor.

Mohammed Shami
Role: Bowler (India)
The veteran pacer has been one of India’s finest seamers, but in IPL 2025, Shami’s performance dipped significantly. In nine matches, he managed only six wickets at an economy rate exceeding 11, a sharp contrast to his usual standards. Age and recurring fitness issues may also influence SRH’s decision. His poor death-over economy and high base price could push him toward being part of the SRH released players list this year. Releasing Shami would allow the team to invest in younger, faster bowlers to strengthen their attack.

Nitish Kumar Reddy
Role: All-Rounder (India)
After a promising 2024 season, Nitish Kumar Reddy struggled to maintain his form in 2025. He scored just 182 runs at a strike rate below 120 and took only two wickets across 13 matches. While he remains a talented prospect, SRH might look to bring in a more versatile all-rounder who can contribute consistently in both departments. Given his moderate impact and relatively high retention value, he could find himself on the 2026 SRH released players radar.

Adam Zampa
Role: Leg Spinner (Australia)
The Australian spinner was expected to add depth to SRH’s spin attack but hardly made an impression in IPL 2025. Playing just two games, Zampa took two wickets at an economy rate close to 12. His limited appearances indicate that SRH management never fully trusted him in Indian conditions. With the team already boasting spin options like Washington Sundar and Shahbaz Ahmed, Zampa might be surplus to requirements, making his name a probable inclusion in the SRH released players list ahead of the IPL 2026 mini auction.

Abhinav Manohar
Role: Batsman (India)
Abhinav Manohar had a forgettable season, managing just 61 runs in eight matches at an average of 12.20. Despite getting a few opportunities in the middle order, he failed to make a lasting impression. SRH has a history of nurturing young Indian batters, but in a competitive environment, performance consistency is key. With better options emerging in the domestic circuit, Abhinav’s future in the orange jersey looks uncertain. He’s another strong candidate for the 2026 SRH released players list, allowing SRH to open space for a more dynamic finisher.

How Was Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Performance in IPL 2025?
The IPL 2025 season started with great curiosity over whether last year’s runners-up Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) would finally reach their long-time goal of crossing the 300-run mark. Having broken the IPL record for most runs in an innings, 287 runs against RCB in 202,4, the team had huge expectations on their shoulders. Their skipper, Pat Cummins and top opener Travis Head had also publicly declared that they would take their batting aggression to the next level.
Always in this together. 🧡

The season began well, with SRH crushing 286 against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their first match, with recruit Ishan Kishan setting the tournament aglow with a blazing century. The fans were set thinking that the “Orange Army” might repeat last season’s dominance. But all of this was followed by a disappointing drought. SRH could win merely three out of their first ten matches, searching for consistency both bat and ball-wise.

Their legendary opening combination, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, who had completed more than a thousand runs in IPL 2024 together, were unable to maintain the same rhythm. Even the middle order that was once stabilised by Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Reddy lost steam under pressure. Bowlers such as Mohammed Shami and Pat Cummins were unable to rein in runs or take wickets regularly, and the absence of a consistent spinner added to their misery.

All in all, SRH’s IPL 2025 campaign proved to be one of wasted potential, a season that had started in fireworks but lost steam because of a shortage of execution, depth, and flexibility in departments. The administration will now seek to rebuild its team in preparation for the IPL 2026 Mini Auction, potentially letting go of underperforming titles to introduce new names that can infuse Hyderabad with renewed spark.
