On December 13, Delhi vs Madhya Pradesh semi final match, Rajat Patidar’s blistering 66* guided Madhya Pradesh to a dominant seven-wicket win over Delhi, securing their first Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final berth since 2010-11. Chasing 147, MP were in early trouble at 46 for 3, but Patidar, along with Harpreet Singh (46*), launched a stunning recovery. Patidar hammered sixes in all directions, racing to a fifty off just 23 balls, and the pair dominated the middle overs. With 55 runs needed from eight overs, MP turned up the pressure, with Patidar blasting 19 off one over.
Harpreet finished the chase with a six, as MP sealed the victory with 26 balls to spare. Earlier, Delhi’s strong start, led by Priyansh Arya’s 29, fizzled out as MP’s bowlers took control. Venkatesh Iyer’s twin strikes and key breakthroughs from Kumar Kartikeya and Tripuresh Singh restricted Delhi to 146 for 5. Anuj Rawat’s late cameo (33*) helped Delhi reach a challenging total, but Patidar’s explosive knock made it look modest. After the semi final match of Delhi vs Madhya Pradesh, MP will now face Mumbai in the final.
