In the Global Super League (GSL) 2024 final at Providence Stadium, Soumya Sarkar’s unbeaten 86 led the Rangpur Riders to a decisive 56-run victory over Victoria.
Batting first, the Riders set a challenging total of 178-3, with a strong 124-run opening partnership between Sarkar and Steven Taylor, who scored 68 off 49 balls. Victoria’s bowlers took some late wickets but couldn’t prevent Rangpur from posting a formidable target. Chasing 179, Victoria faltered and were bowled out for 122 in 18.1 overs. Joe Clarke’s quick 40 off 22 balls was the only substantial contribution. Rangpur’s bowlers, led by Harmeet Singh’s three wickets, dismantled Victoria’s lineup to clinch the title.
