Despite a valiant effort from MS Dhoni, who batted at No. 9 for the first time in his career, CSK’s chase faltered. The strong seam attack from Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who claimed four wickets between them, dismantled CSK’s top order early. Although Dhoni managed some late fireworks, it wasn’t enough to prevent CSK from suffering their largest-ever home defeat in IPL history. RCB’s bowlers, especially in the powerplay, set the tone for a comfortable win.
