Asked to chase 188, RR got off to a flying start with Yashasvi Jaiswal hammering 36 off just 19 balls, including a fiery 19-run over off Khaleel Ahmed. After his dismissal, Sanju Samson and young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi took control, mixing smart strike rotation with clean hitting. Suryavanshi cracked a brilliant 57 off 33, including big hits off Noor Ahmad and Jadeja, while Samson added a fluent 41. Though both fell in the same over to Ashwin, RR were already in cruise mode.

Earlier, CSK’s innings had wild swings. They stumbled to 78/5 in under 8 overs, losing wickets to Yudhvir Singh and Tushar Deshpande despite Ayush Mhatre’s flashy 43 off 20. Dewald Brevis kept them afloat with a counterattacking 42, adding 59 runs with Shivam Dube. But Akash Madhwal’s lethal reverse swing in the death overs shut the door on a strong finish. CSK ended on 187/8, about 20 short on a true pitch. RR chased it down with 17 balls to spare, finally getting their act together, albeit a bit too late.
