When the Rajasthan Royals took the field against the Mumbai Indians on May 1st, something immediately stood out. It wasn’t just the loud Jaipur crowd or the buzz around playoff qualification — it was the team’s outfit. Instead of their usual pink-and-blue kit, It was the special RR pink promise jersey, and there’s a powerful story behind it.

Not Just Pink for Style — It’s RR Pink Promise Jersey

Once a season, Rajasthan Royals switch their usual blue-trimmed attire for an RR all pink jersey as part of their flagship initiative — the Pink Promise Match. It’s more than just a color swap. The RR pink promise jersey is all about celebrating women-led development in rural Rajasthan and raising awareness for social impact causes. This year’s match against Mumbai Indians was the chosen occasion, and it came with a mission.

The campaign, run through the Royal Rajasthan Foundation (RRF), aims to bring real change. Every six hit during the game powered six rural homes in the Sambhar region with solar energy. Plus, ₹100 from each ticket sold went straight to grassroots, women-led projects. Even the RR all pink jersey itself was designed with intention, featuring a solar panel pattern and traditional Rajasthani bandhani print.

The Royals’ social media post summed it up best: “Today goes beyond the match result. Today is special. Today is our #PinkPromise game!” And that’s the heart of the pink promise jersey in IPL, making cricket about more than just cricket.

Unveiled by Thavri Devi, a female solar engineer, this year’s jersey honors the spirit of women bringing light — quite literally — to their communities. Supported by the campaign “Aurat Hai Toh Bharat Hai,” the RR pink promise jersey initiative is a heartfelt reminder that the IPL isn’t just about big scores, but also big statements.
The Match?Not Quite as Bright

Unfortunately, the good vibes from the RR all pink jersey didn’t carry over to the scoreboard. Rajasthan Royals were completely outplayed by Mumbai Indians, losing by a massive 100 runs. Despite their hopes to stay alive in the competition, the loss officially knocked RR out of IPL 2025.

It’s tough to believe, considering RR was riding high just a few games ago, especially after that memorable win over GT. But things unraveled fast. Their top order collapsed early against MI, and not even their celebrated RR pink promise jersey magic could save them. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the young centurion from the previous match, got out for a duck and fans can only watch as one pink promise jersey in IPL after another gradually exits the tournament like dominos.

RR’s Campaign Ends, But the Message Lives On

So yes, it’s official — RR out of playoffs, and with it, their dreams of lifting the IPL trophy this year. They now join CSK in the group of teams whose IPL 2025 journeys are over, at least in terms of postseason action. It’s the end of the road for them this season, though they’ll still play their remaining fixtures — likely in their standard kit.

But while RR may be out of IPL 2025, the impact of the pink promise jersey in IPL is anything but over. In fact, it might be one of the most meaningful takeaways of the season. The Royals may not have won the match — but through their bold choice of jersey and their even bolder commitment to change, they definitely made a lasting impression.
