Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) made a historic splash at the IPL 2025 Auction in Jeddah, securing a number of key players to strengthen their squad. The franchise made headlines with their record-breaking acquisition of Rishabh Pant for ₹27 crore, making him the most expensive player in IPL history. This remarkable bid surpassed Mitchell Starc’s previous record of ₹24.75 crore. Pant, whose base price was ₹2 crore, was acquired after intense bidding, with LSG fending off strong competition, particularly from Delhi Capitals.
The high-profile signing of Pant wasn’t the only move Lucknow Super Giants made to bolster their lineup. The franchise also strengthened their batting and leadership core by acquiring experienced international players. South African batter David Miller joined the team for ₹7.5 crore, while Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh was brought in for ₹3.4 crore. Versatile batter Aiden Markram was acquired for ₹2 crore, adding depth and flexibility to LSG’s middle order. The franchise also secured fast bowler Avesh Khan for ₹9.75 crore, reinforcing their pace attack. In addition, they added dynamic middle-order batter Abdul Samad for ₹4.2 crore and promising young talent Aryan Juyal for ₹30 lakh.
