Renegades, Sydney Sixers kicked off their new season with a thrilling five-wicket win over Melbourne Renegades at the SCG. Chasing 170, the Sixers faced a tense chase, with captain Moises Henriques leading the charge. His unbeaten 53 from 27 balls guided the team home with nine balls to spare. Despite a middle-order wobble, Henriques remained calm, especially after a narrow escape when he was almost run out at 25. Renegades’ Will Sutherland impressed with both bat and ball, scoring 36* and taking 2 for 20, but it wasn’t enough.
On December 16th, the second match of the Big Bash League will see the Sydney Sixers face off against the Melbourne Renegades at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The Sydney Sixers will be looking to assert their dominance in the competition, while the Melbourne Renegades will be eager to bounce back with a strong performance.
