As of February 1, the ICC awaits official confirmation from PCB regarding the matter. The move stemmed from Bangladesh refusing to play the T20 World Cup games in India due to a security threat arising from political tensions between the two countries. Moreover, BCCI had also instructed the Kolkata Knight Riders to remove Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman from the Indian Premier League 2026.

However, after a complete check, ICC deemed that India is safe for the Bangladeshi players, as well as the media personnel and fans. However, the game will officially be forfeited if Pakistan doesn’t gradually arrive on the field on the game day.
