My goal is to make them chase after me, and I need to perform like that.”
Ihsanullah’s Retirement:Not Emotional Action

While his Ihsanullah’s retirement has shocked many, the pacer made it clear that his decision was not made in the heat of the moment. Instead, it reflects his disillusionment with franchise cricket. “It’s over after today. I completely boycott it and retire from the PSL. I won’t be seen in the PSL again.” he said, adding that he no longer wishes to participate in any franchise cricket, focusing solely on representing Pakistan national cricket team. Despite his injury struggles, which led to a drop in pace, he is determined to make a comeback. “I’ll bowl at a pace of 150-160, and those who have said I’m a 130-135 bowler, in one and a half months, I’ll show them that I wasn’t the same bowler who played in PSL 8 and got injured,” He said.

Snub from Multan Sultans and PSL Draft
During his time with Multan Sultans, Ihsanullah had been a revelation, claiming 22 wickets in 12 matches during PSL 2023. However, his recent exclusion from the PSL draft left him disillusioned. They did not show any interest in picking him during the draft. The franchise, which had previously seen his raw pace as a valuable asset, did not contact him for the new season. He expressed disappointment with the franchise’s decision, stating that he was left out despite his past contributions.

What Multan Sultans Owner Said?
In response, Multan Sultans’ owner, Ali Tareen, acknowledged the challenges Ihsanullah faced with his injury and explained that the decline in pace during domestic cricket was the key factor in the franchise’s decision. Tareen shared that Ihsanullah Pakistani cricketer’s injury might have permanently affected his ability to bowl at his peak speed, adding, “It’s unfortunate, but his arm will never be the same.”

Though Ihsanullah’s retirement from PSL marks the end of an era, it signals a new beginning in domestic cricket. “I want to represent Pakistan by performing in domestic cricket, not by playing in the PSL,” he vowed.
